Should Cowie go with the wind?
28 March, 2011Would a community wind turbine be a good thing for Cowie?
According to the Stirling Observer Councillor Alasdair Macpherson has suggested the generators to the community councils of Cowie and Fallin.
Community turbines are owned by the local community, and profits generated from selling power from them back to the grid can be used for local projects. There's some information about how one has worked for Fintry on LowCarbonEconomy.com
However, wind turbines aren't always popular - objections can be raised about their effect on the landscape, and sometimes about noise.
So what do we all think? A good way to create local green energy and generate a bit of community cash? Or part of a proliferation which is blighting Stirlingshire?
